Video Lesson Part 2

Hi Guys,

Here are few notes from last night class.

James, was mentioning about placing bids on Elance and how to spend money. He said you could spend anywhere from $200 and up for a video. With everything together, you could spend as much $1000. James has been using a guy from elance, Rick, his handle is rglasby if you want to ask him to bid on your work.

James, uses Istock photos for his Still Motion Videos. He only uses the 2 credit images and it works. He does not use Istock video images, too expensive.

One thing I discovered from the last time I made a video edit on elance, I used this service one of the video editors turned me on to. https://www.wetransfer.com/ Its really great for transferring large files for FREE.

To find video and music at reasonable cost, http://audiojungle.net/
John Hawaiian, showed me another place to get music loops for free,
James usually spends about $40 for still photos and about $40 for music and sound effects. He kept stressing how important the sound quality for you video is important.
You need to

Also, James Stressed to Organize your sales message. 5 tips to organize your message.

  1. Have an "Awareness" of your customer needs. You should write them down.
  2. Identify the "thing" that satisfy their needs
  3. Identify the Source of the Thing that fulfills their needs or desires - ie like " Amazon"
  4. Is the Price acceptable for the customer
  5. Give them a reason to Act Now!!
If you incorporate these sales points into your video, you will see conversions rates go way up

Here is sample Bid to elance editor from James. You may wan to use this outline.

Hi, it's James Martell here.

Thank you for bidding on my project.

I am looking for a video editor to take my video footage and edit it down into a 6-8 minute video.
The video will include a narration by my wife Arlene and I.

The video footage captured at the ShareASale Think Tank 2010 held at the Ritz-Carlton in San Fransisco, California. I would like the completed video to be of the same style as from the past two years. It will also include our siteseeing tour and mini-holiday in San Fransisco.

I would like the video to have the same opening, closing, sub-titles, etc. I would like it to be as close to the same format as possible.

I am hoping to have the same four quadrants that show up on the screen. Same style of font, etc.

The Video
- mini-DV format
- approximately 40 minutes in length
- it is pretty much shot in the sequence of the story
- it consists typically of short 5-10 second clips
- you will receive the video footage from me by courier
- the music to be supplied by you
- the narration (mp3) will be supplied by me
- I will simply the intro and outro text
- I will provide the text for the lower thirds (and titling)

Work Flow
- you edit the video to fit the narration
- I will request any minor adjustments by time code
- you make the edits
- I will give you the text for the lower thirds (and titling) by time code
- you add the intro, outro and music

Overall it should be a simple project. I am hoping to have it wrapped up within 7-days of awarding the project.

If you have any questions please send me a PMB... but please don't use my PMB area to pitch me. I look forward to seeing your bid. ~ James

I hope all this helps.
God Bless,
John
